American Immigration Lawyers Association

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), founded in 1946, is the national bar association of over 7,000 attorneys. AILA membership is voluntary and open to all licensed U.S. attorneys including recent graduates. Therefor AILA membership does not indicate any specific level or assure the competence of an attorney to practice in the field of immigration law (selecting a lawyer). AILA has 34 chapters in the United States and Canada. AILA also has over 75 national committees and is an Affiliated Organization of the American Bar Association.
